Trash or Treasure

old hands
For some people, things from the past are considered trash or junk. They do not understand how bits of scrap fabric can be a treasure to others. It is hard for me to understand this way. I happen to be one who appreciates things from the past, especially if they have been crafted by someone's hands. Well, for Christmas this year, a young teacher at my school presented me with a treasure. It was a quilt handmade by his great grandmother. I was astounded to say the least.

He told me that he had often heard me talk about old quilts and knew that I would appreciate what his great grandmother had done. He told me that she was known as one who always gave away her quilts and that she would have loved for me to have one. I understand that she made quilts up until she died. She died in her 90s. Isn't that amazing? The time and love it took to sew each stitch. That, to me, is a treasure. Thank you, Richard, for thinking of me and for giving me such a beautiful treasure.

Just wondering if you sent out the valentine's dish cloths to Slayermel. You are the only person we have yet to hear from.

Hope you are having a great day :-D
