Ancient and Primitive Embroidery

The other day I was listening to Craft Sanity and Kristin Nicholas was being interviewed. The topic was embroidary. As I listened, I recalled that once upon a time back in the dark ages (the early 70's) in college, I used to try to embroider.I then remembered that I had tucked away in a back closet a blue jean jacket I had embroidered for my husband. (At the time we were dating.)

And now for the creative piece of art - RIGHT! Notice the various stitches - chain stitch, chain stitch and some more chain stitch. At the time I thought it was cool and much larger than it really is.

Picture Update

After posting this picture, Feb. 21, 2008
and wondering about what was going on with this man, our newspaper had a brief article about him. He is Poor Penny Carson and is a man on a mission.

Picture Taking

As I have mentioned, I have been trying to photograph something interesting every day. So far, I haven't missed but a few days. There have been some unusal things I have seen in this small town that I live in. Here are a couple:

Feb. 6, 2008 This is the "heavy" traffic in front of the highway department. This gentleman actually pulled up next to me in the parking lot just as if it were a "real" car.

Feb. 21, 2008 Is that one or two people? Wish I had gotten a better angle but the traffic light changed and I had to move on. I have no clue what was going on here.

DSC_0525 Ever seen the Julia Roberts' movie, Sleeping with the Enemy? Part of the movie was filmed in a neighboring town. This is the house her character lived in after she faked her death. Love this house.

I recently won/purchased this square bundt pan on Ebay. I had never seen a square bundt pan before. Once it arrived, I immediately baked a chocolate pound cake with chocolate icing. My husband and I enjoyed every single calorie.

Hired to Knit

Remember this bag? Well, I had been asked to knit three of these bags but smaller and pink. A friend of mine wants them for her granddaughters. I have knitted two so far....

and I am almost through knitting the third one. Each one has a different arrangement of cables. Here is the problem - I can't find small handles for these small bags. Does anyone out in blogland have any ideas of what I could use or where I could find some small round handles????
